Education

FCNS offer several products and services to assist family caregivers in meeting the demands of caregiving, making essential decisions, navigating the healthcare system as well as taking care of themselves so they avoid burnout and can continue to provide the best care they can to their family member or friend. These products and services include:

  • Educational workshops, tele-workshops, webinars and special events on various topics of interest to family caregivers
  • Bi-monthly newsletter, The Network News , which contains information re events, support groups, a legal column, a healthcare system column, resource library information and other articles and information of importance to family caregivers.
  • Two publications for sale: A Resource Guide for Family Caregivers, 2nd edition and Educational Activities to Support Family Caregivers: Facilitator’s Manual
  • Caregiver Wellness Booklet: a personal wellness journal
  • Medical Information Package: consists of important forms for recording health related information all contained in a magnetic pouch that can be attached to fridge.
  • A Resource library of videos and books, as well as various handouts on topics of interest to family caregivers.
  • Resources for Supporting Family Caregivers in the Workplace. This includes information for family caregivers who are trying to balance the demands of caregiving and employment as well as resources for employers and human resource professionals.
